Privacy
A plain-language notice for gaamaihair.ca and STRND while both are in beta. A full privacy policy will replace it before public launch.
Who we are
Gáamai Hair is a Canadian hair-innovation company. This page covers our website and STRND, our hair diagnostic tool. For questions, or to ask us to access, correct or delete your information, write to gaamaihair@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address, when you join the Fibre Registry on our homepage or choose Save My Profile in STRND. We use it to send the updates you asked for: fibre development news, product-testing opportunities and STRND updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Your STRND answers (hair pattern, porosity, density, texture, length, scalp, treatment history and concerns). While you use STRND they stay in your browser. If you choose Save My Profile, we receive them along with your email and your consent, and use them for product updates and research into textured-hair care.
- Hair photos, if you choose to add one. Photo analysis runs in your browser. We do not upload your photos.
- Your location, if you allow it. STRND sends approximate coordinates to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to find your city, and to Open-Meteo to look up local humidity. You can decline and enter your city instead.
- How the site and STRND are used. STRND uses Microsoft Clarity, which records interactions such as clicks and scrolling (and may produce session replays) so we can improve the tool. Our homepage loads Klaviyo's website script to manage sign-ups. STRND also keeps a record of how you move through the tool in your browser's local storage, on your own device.
Who handles it for us
We use service providers to run the site: Klaviyo (email), Formspree (receives STRND profile submissions), Microsoft Clarity (usage analytics), OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Open-Meteo (location lookups), Netlify (hosting), and Google Fonts (typefaces on some pages, which means your IP address reaches Google's servers when they load).
Several of these providers are based outside Canada, so your information may be processed in other countries. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email, or write to us to withdraw your consent or to ask for access, correction or deletion.
- Decline the location and photo prompts. STRND works without them.
- Clear your browser's site data to remove what STRND stored on your device.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will update this page as STRND and the Fibre Registry evolve. The date at the top shows the latest version.
